Just as we saw that there are Prophetic Numbers In Scripture, there are likewise found Prophetic Words in Scripture. These are simply words that take on a prophetic meaning, a dual or additional meaning, which may not be obvious at first. It is thus a hidden meaning. Let's look into this.

There are approximately 8,674 separate and distinct words used in the 'Old Testament' [the Torah], not counting the Hebrew untranslated words, variations, or qere readings. Likewise in the 'New Testament' writings, there are approximately 5,624 distinct words, not counting the Greek untranslated words, variations, or synonyms.

Each of these distinct words has a clear and obvious meaning, depending on context, but many have additional meanings on a deeper or more obscure level. This brief writing is a glimpse into some of the hidden meaning of words, as related to the Bride and her preparation.

It is unfortunate that man, left to himself, can and will corrupt the Words of Almighty Yahuweh. For this reason we will first mention that no interpretation of Biblical Words is of any man's private interpretation, but must be that of Yahuweh alone. The Scriptures, the Words of Yahuweh alone, can interpret itself.

Any word or message of Scripture, to be a True interpretation, will have two or three witnesses of other words or passages in Scripture to confirm the possible meanings. This is especially true of the hidden or prophetic meanings of words used in Scripture.

As we cry out to Yahuweh for wisdom, we realise there is a price we must pay. We must dig for the nuggets, and the jewels He has hidden for us. Nevertheless, as we seek Yahuweh, and His Word, we begin to notice the hidden or prophetic meaning of many Bible words. If we would labour to be observant, and to learn the Prophetic language of Scripture, we would greatly increase in our understanding.

For this reason, although we will attempt to show here what some of the word definitions are, we must qualify this with, "We might be wrong, so check it out for yourself." I may be able to tell what I have seen and heard [that is what a 'witness' does, according to Acts 4:20 and Acts 22:15]. But I may be wrong — so check it out for yourself, and pray about what you see, dear Bride-Candidate.

Bear also in mind, that the prophetic definitions do not replace or rule out the simple and plain meaning of the words, as often happens in what is called Replacement Theology. With that said, here are some prophetic definitions of certain words [the secondary, additional meanings that apply the Scripture passages to you and me individually, for today — the 'now' meanings]. A few words will be given at first, and from time to time others added, as time permits.

Examples of Prophetic Words in Scripture

Below are a few random examples of Prophetic words in Scripture. In the articles on this site, we have made an attempt reveal the prophetic definitions [the secondary, additional, 'now' or present-day meaning for us today] of various words and terminology. We hope to add to these as time permits. In no particular order, they are as follows:
  • New Covenant - The new ['renewed'] version of Yahuweh's Everlasting Covenant with Israel, whose eternal promises and provisions [terms and conditions or T&C] are found throughout the 'Old Testament' [the Torah — Yahuweh's instructions for His people].
  • The New Covenant is the Covenant of Promise made with the House of Judah [Jew-dah — the Jews], and the House of Israel [Judah's brothers], and is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who have been grafted-in by faith in Messiah. It is the Blood of Yahushua that ratifies and confirms the New and Everlasting Covenant (Hebrews 13:20; Luke 22:20; 1Corinthians 11:25).
  • Jacob (#1) - Corporately - Covenant Name of Promise, given to the Commonwealth represented by the Tree, and given Individually — to all those grafted into the Tree-Commonwealth, both natural branches and wild branches, by Faith in the Promised Messiah. Notice that there is only one plan of redemption prescribed in Torah — not two. Both Jew and Gentile must be redeemed by the Blood of the promised Messiah!
  • Jacob (#2) - Individually - Describes those who are Believers in Messiah Yahushua. Through Messiah, we are as Jacob, and have become a child of Promise. But we are still as Jacob until we wrestle with Yahuweh, as Jacob did, to know Yahuweh's name — and to overcome or prevail, to obtain His blessing. It is after we wrestle, and prevail, that Yahuweh then calls us Israel.
  • Israel (#1) - Corporately - Another name for Jacob. Covenant Name of Promise, given to the Commonwealth represented by the Tree, and given Individually — to all those grafted into the Tree-Commonwealth, both natural branches and wild branches, by Faith in the Promised Messiah. Notice that there is only one plan of redemption prescribed in Torah — not two. Both Jew and Gentile must be redeemed by the Blood of the promised Messiah!
  • Israel (#2) - Individually - Describes those who are 'Believers' in Messiah Yahushua, after having wrestled with Yahuweh [in the strength of 'Messiah-in-you'], and having prevailed with Him.
  • Israel (#3) - Corporately - Name of endearment given to 'My People' as seen in numerous Scripture passages. Like Israel (#1), This speaks of all who are grafted-in to the commonwealth called Israel by Faith in the Promised Messiah, both Jew and Gentile. There is a possibility that both Yahuweh's faithful children and His unfaithful children may be included in this reference [see Israel (#4)].
  • Israel (#4) - Corporately - This name in Scripture sometimes speaks of Ephraim, also called the Ten Tribes, which were scattered to 'Every Wind' into all the nations, because of their rebellion and idolatry, and their refusal to keep and observe Yahuweh's Torah ['Law']. See Ephraim (#2) below.
  • Ephraim (#1) - as a fulfillment of promise, speaks of the Tribe of Ephraim, as representing all the 'House of Israel' [the Gentiles in Messiah grafted-in to Israel, and scattered among the Nations] who will become one Tree [stick] in the hand of Yahuweh, when they are reunited in Messiah with [grafted-in] Jew-dah.
  • Ephraim (#2) - as a derogatory picture, speaks of the prophetic congregation of Believers who honour Messiah with their lips, but who have forsaken obedience to the Law [Torah]. Just as Ephraim of old (Hosea 4:17), these today continue to practice idolatry through ancient, pagan religious festivals having modern packaging and labels, such as Christ-mass, Easter, Lent, Eucharist, Communion, and many others.
  • The name Ephraim is the prophetic, derogatory name that speaks of the Congregation of Believing ones today called Christianity. Having originated in Rome, this is a man-made religion, a confused mixture of parts of the True Faith of Messiah, mixed with pagan and man-made concepts.
  • This prophetic Ephraim of today continues to be unfaithful, doing the same as Ephraim of old, and consequently has been divided up and scattered by 'Every Wind of Doctrine' to become many thousands of sects and denominations. Today however, Yahuweh is restoring a remnant of Ephraim [grafted-in, Gentiles in Messiah] who have repented of their disobedience to Messiah's Commandments in Torah, and who will be gathered and joined together with a remnant of Jew-dah [grafted-in, Jews in Messiah], to complete both houses [family lines] of Israel as one in Messiah.
  • Bow - Speaks of Yahuweh's Covenant.
  • City - Speaks of the Congregation of Yahuweh's people as a whole.
  • Purple - The color purple speaks of the True Bride Candidates of Messiah; Likewise, speaks of the False Bride.
  • Lot - Hebrew word meaning The Covering, speaks of the spiritual covering protection of the City-Congregation provided by His 'covered' Bride-Company. Just as Yahuweh had to first remove Lot [His spiritual covering protection] from Sodom before He could destroy Sodom (Gen 19:22), in the same way Yahuweh must remove His covered Bride-Company [His spiritual covering protection] from the earth, before the destruction can occur in the earth during the Great Tribulation.
  • Joshua - Hebrew Yahoshua or Yahushua, meaning "Yahuweh is Salvation" - One of only two [of the earlier generation] allowed to enter in to the Land of Promise beyond Jordan. Joshua [Yahushua] is a prophetic picture of Yahushua Messiah. Only Joshua and Caleb, of that earlier generation brought out of Egypt, were allowed to enter the Promised Land. It is Joshua who was given the charge to bring Yahuweh's people into the land of promise (Deuteronomy 31:23). Only our prophetic Yahushua Messiah can bring us into the Promised Land of our inheritance.
  • Caleb - Hebrew kol-leb, meaning "whole-hearted" - One of only two [of the earlier generation] allowed to enter in to the Land of Promise beyond Jordan. Caleb is a prophetic picture of the whole-hearted Believers today who, in Messiah, will enter into the Kingdom. Only two will enter in to the eternal kingdom — who are [prophetically speaking] Joshua and Caleb. These two who will enter in are Yahushua, along with and those who are 'in Him,' and who have become one with Him. We are told, the two shall become one, speaking of Messiah and His Bride Company.
  • Jordan - Speaks of entrance into the Kingdom through death, burial, and resurrection.
  • Pearl - Speaks of Truths regarding entering in to the Kingdom.
  • Pearl of Great Price - Speaks of the entering in of the Gates of the City of the King — the place of being in Messiah and of having rulership within the Kingdom of Yahuweh.
  • Righteousness (#1) - The Hebrew noun having the masculine gender - Speaks of the Good Seed of Righteousness [Messiah] poured out from heaven from Yahuweh, to be planted in the earth [mankind], as seen in Isaiah 45:8. The Good Seed is Yahushua Himself, planted in the Garden [the heart of man]. Here we see that Messiah is our true Righteousness, and as the Seed, He is the source of the Tree of Righteousness [Messiah in union with our Spirit] that sprouts within the heart. He is also the source of any fruit of Righteousness that we may produce.
  • Righteousness (#2) - The Hebrew noun having the feminine gender - Speaks of the Tree and its fruit, springing up from the incorruptible Good Seed of Righteousness that Yahuweh has planted, as seen in Isaiah 45:8. The Good Seed of the Living Word [Yahushua Himself living in the heart of man] is intended to sprout, and to grow into a fruitful Tree of Righteousness, resulting in abundant fruitfulness.
  • This process requires patience of the Husbandman [gardener] to wait patiently for the Fruit of Righteousness [Love = 'keeping the Commandments'] to be perfected in us (James 5:7; 1John 5:3). Here we see that it is Messiah Himself who is the 'gardener,' the One who produces the fruit of Righteousness in us (Php 1:11), our works of Righteousness done by His Grace — our works of obedience to all of His Word.
  • Righteousness (#3) - Speaks of man's own attempts to produce the fruit of good works from a bad seed of one's own planting, resulting in a corrupt tree, ultimately yielding barrenness and no good fruit of Righteousness that remains. This was not the Good Seed [Messiah] planted by Yahuweh in the garden of one's heart, for that one was not Born-Again — that is, the Good Seed of Messiah had not sprouted or birthed within.
  • Instead, the seed that was planted in the heart was not true Righteousness [Messiah], and the resulting corrupt tree is not the life of Messiah, but the life of walking in one's own ways. Thus the fruits [works; actions] produced from this tree are not the fruits of true Righteousness, but are seen as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).
  • Wool (#1) - Speaks of sweat, or work - speaks of the initiation of ones own efforts of obedience, but not initiated by Yahushua Messiah living within.
  • Wool (#2) - Speaks of Whiteness or purity, a Bride characteristic.
  • Works (#1) - Speaks of the initiation of ones own efforts, as works initiated by Man. This includes Man's attempt to walk in obedience, and man's attempt to do any good whatsoever, when done by ones own effort, and not by Grace.
  • Works (#2) - Speaks of works initiated by Yahuweh. This includes works and actions done by Man, as an act of obedience to Yahuweh's Word, and enabled by His Grace — the power or enablement given to us by Messiah living within us, as He enables us to fully obey all of His Word.
  • Flax - Speaks of Linen: Righteousness provided by Yahuweh, but in its early stages of growth, perhaps before the fruit is perfected. Speaks of a Bride Characteristic.
  • Linen - Speaks of Righteousness provided by Yahuweh, as opposed to that initiated by Man. This is the equivalent of Righteousness (#2) above. Speaks of a Bride Characteristic. The Linen is made from the Flax, giving us the hint that Linen speaks of full submission to the Headship of Messiah, and the clothing that speaks prophetically of ones outworked Righteousness or actions, enabled by His Grace.
  • Grace - In Scripture, there are various meanings of the one English word Grace. In some verses, for example, the word Grace is used to express mercy; in others, thanks or thanksgiving, joy and rejoicing, and even beauty. But in the context of most of the apostle Paul's writings, the word Grace is defined in context as the power or enablement given by the Holy Spirit — the Holy-Ghost ability provided by Messiah living within us (Colossians 1:27) — to walk in obedience to all of Yahuweh's Word.
  • One example of this Holy-Spirit power of Grace can be seen in the following Scripture passage, in describing some of the promises for Believers under the New Covenant: "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes [all the Torah] and ye shall keep my judgments, [all the Torah] and do them (Ezekiel 36:26-27). This describes the promised New Covenant restitution [restoration] of all things, which is now taking place, one Believer at a time! His Restoration is by His Grace — by His enablement!
  • Caution Advised: The Scripture-based definition of Grace given above is in opposition to the predominant man-made definition, twisted by the Theologians to confuse sincere seekers. The man-made definition would say that Grace is unmerited [undeserved] favour. Used in this way, Grace is claimed to be the same as mercy, and is claimed to make Yahuweh blind to our sin. This man-made definition was invented as an attempt to give credibility to other popular, but man-made doctrines and traditions originated in Rome. In this context, this man-made definition of Grace becomes a doctrinal excuse to continue in sin, and in this way becomes another 'doctrine of devils.' Jude describes those teachers who teach this as "turning Grace into lasciviousness" (Jude 4).
  • Sin - Transgression of the Law [Yahuweh's Law - The 'Torah'] (1John 3:4). This Scripture-based definition is in opposition to Man's misleading definition of 'missing the mark.' For the Bible definition of Sin and Iniquity, the Reader is encouraged to read Sin: According to the Scriptures.
  • Iniquity - Forsaking of the Law, defined in (1John 3:4, James 2:9), is Transgression of the Law [forsaking the practice of Torah].
  • Dispensation - Like the word Grace, this is another word twisted by the Theologians, to confuse sincere seekers. The English word translated dispensation is the Greek word oikonomia, from which our English word economy derives. It is a good Bible word, and has the meaning of stewardship or management of another's household affairs. The Theologians, however, have invented a different definition of this word, to support the man-made notion of different ages, such that Yahuweh's eternal Words spoken in one [supposed] 'age' would nullify(!!) Yahuweh's eternal Words spoken in a different [supposed] age. Teachers who use this word dispensation in an un-Scriptural manner — to describe Biblical time-frames — are not speaking Truth, and they should not be believed, nor trusted!
  • Wicked - those who do not seek Yahuweh (Psalms 10:4); who do not seek His Statutes (Psalms 119:155); those who forsake the Law — the Torah (Psalms 119:53; Ezekiel 33:19); those who do not Love Him (Psalms 145:20); do not fear Him (Ecclesiastes 8:13); those whose prayers are an abomination to Yahuweh (Proverbs 15:8; Proverbs 28:9).
  • Wise - Speaks of those who have chosen wisely — who have chosen the love of the Truth, and who have the Fear Yahuweh, and who, by the Grace of Messiah-in-them, separate themselves to walk in obedience to His Torah (Proverbs 18:1). Examples of these include Yahushua, the apostle Paul, and the apostle John.
  • Foolish - Speaks of those Believers who profess to follow Yahushua, but who do not choose wisely. The contrast between the wise and the foolish is seen vividly and in great detail in the Proverbs, and is explained and summarised by Yahushua in (Matthew 7:24-27; 25:1-13; Luke 6:46-49; Luke 24:25).
  • Love (Agape) - provided only by Messiah-in-you - Has multiple prophetic meanings:
    • 1. As a verb, speaks of appearing of Messiah-in-you - the fruit of the resurrection-Harvest.
    • 2. As a noun, speaks of:
      • a) the marriage covenant - betrothal to those that become married to the Bridegroom.
      • b) the Bridegroom and Bride characteristic, of laying down ones life for another.
      • c) the Bride characteristic, speaks of the fruit that must be perfected; this is the fruit for which the Husbandman patiently labours.
      • d) the Bridegroom and Bride characteristic, of keeping Messiah's Commandments, including those Messiah spoke to Moses (John 14:15, 14:24).
  • Fruit - Speaks of our works. It is good fruit if produced by Messiah-in-you, by His Grace — His enablement — in obedience to His Word (John 15:2-10; Philippians 1:11). It is corrupt fruit if attempted to be produced by one who is not Born-Again — that is, by one in whom Messiah-in-you has not been 'birthed,' and in whom Messiah is not living within, to provide the Grace to enable obedience to His Word — but produced instead by ones own efforts (Isaiah 57:12; 64:6).
  • My Commandments - This phrase occurs 28 times in the Old Testament, and only 3 times in the New. Thus where Yahushua speaks this phrase in John 14 and 15, we realise He is referring to all of His sayings - from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 - and includes ALL the Commandments Messiah gave to Moses. Therefore Yahushua said, "If you 'believe not' [If you are not a 'do-er' of] his [Moses'] writings, how shall you believe [become a 'do-er' of] my words?" (John 5:46-47). It is impossible to believe [become a 'do-er' of] Yahushua's words, if one does not believe [become a 'do-er' of] Moses' words: for Moses' words ARE Yahushua's words! "If you love Me, keep MY Commandments" [those who truly know Him, understand that this means ALL His Words — from Genesis through Revelation!]
  • Doctrines and Traditions of Men - Speaks of Religious Teachings that originate not from the Holy Scriptures, but from men's own imagination, men's religious tradition, and men's fables. Yahushua said (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7-8; Titus 1:14) that these doctrines and traditions prevent men from keeping the Commandments of Yahuweh, and turn men away from the Truth.
  • Commandments of Men - Speaks of the religious traditions or practices that begin as Traditions of Men, but progress to becoming formal, Religious Doctrines and Commandments of Men. Many Believers continue to follow these man-made doctrines, rather than Scripture, because they do not study the Scriptures for themselves. Some follow them due to fear of being different, the result of an unspoken ostracism from fellow Believers, and perhaps others due to threat of physical or spiritual retribution or expulsion. We are told (Titus 1:14) that these religious commandments of men actually turn men away from the Truth of the Scriptures.
  • Gilgal - Speaks of the whirlwind.
  • Whirlwind - Speaks of 'Barley' Harvest. Elijah went up in a whirlwind, picturing how the Barley-harvest Bride will ascend alive.
  • Barley - Speaks of the 'Firstfruit' of the Harvest
    • 1. Yahushua Messiah, as the Bridegroom
    • 2. The Bride of Yahushua
  • Firstfruit - Speaks of the first-born of each crop or harvest-phase of Yahuweh's Harvest:
    • 1. Yahushua Messiah, as firstborn of them that slept;
    • 2. The Bride, the whole-hearted, the overcomers, those removed from the Body of Messiah, as Firstborn of Yahuweh's Barley harvest;
    • 3. The Remainder of the Body of Messiah, those who remain, as Firstborn of Yahuweh's Wheat harvest;
  • Treasure - Speaks of the Fear of Yahuweh.
  • Laodicea - The city whose name means "Victory over the People." This speaks of the prophetic house or congregation of the last-days religious system — as the abode of the Strange Woman, the Harlot — to trap, to snare, and to prevent men from entering the Kingdom.
  • Jezebel - A spirit-stronghold — Speaks of the religious, demonic power source of Laodicea.
  • Babylon - Speaks of one present-day Captivity of most of Yahuweh's people. The Hebrew words for Babylon and Mesopotamia speak of the confusion resulting from the mixture of Two Rivers — of Truth and Error — and resulting blindness of the congregations of the Believing ones. One may escape this captivity only by returning to Jerusalem — by returning to Yahuweh, to re-build the broken-down walls of Salvation. The captive one may escape, only by seeking Yahuweh, and only after stepping out ['blindly'] in obedience to His Commandments. It is here [in blind obedience to the Scriptures, even prior to understanding] that the blind first gain their [true spiritual] eyesight.
  • Assyria - Speaks of one present-day Captivity of most of Yahuweh's people. The Hebrew word for Assyria speaks of the Successful Spiritual Leaders — and the resulting blindness of the those Believers who follow their teachings. As in the above item describing Babylon, one may be set free from this captivity only by seeking Yahuweh, and only after stepping out in ['blind'] obedience to His Commandments.
  • Borrowed Ax Head - prophetic words borrowed from one another, rather than originating from Messiah-in-you to sharpen the edge of the iron, the giving of wisdom by the Holy Spirit. (Ecclesiastes 10:10).
  • Sons of the Prophets - Speaks of the many of present-day Prophets, Prophecy Teachers, and 'Prophetic Ministries' who borrow words from one another [the borrowed axe head], and are all speaking the same message, but not from Yahuweh.
  • Harlot in the Book of Revelation - Speaks of the Strange Woman — the False Bride — the False Religious system. One who attempts to attract men, in order to produce fruit from the seed of another tree, but which seed was not planted by Yahuweh.
  • Five Loaves - of Barley — Speaks of the Bride
  • Two Fishes - Speaks of the Sign of Israel in the Heavens, representing the Two Fishes that will be divided — separated or cut asunder ['cut into two parts'] — the Barley-Harvest Bride, and the Wheat-Harvest Believers.
  • Shadrack, Meshach, & Abednego - The three Hebrew Children — Speaks of the Resurrection of the Wheat Harvest Believers, who are Messiah's children, but yet they must first go through the furnace, to receive the required 7-Times chastening and testing. These had Messiah with them in the furnace of affliction, but yet were not found worthy to escape, because of continued forsaking of, and disobedience to, Yahuweh's Torah — as promised four times in Leviticus Chapter 26, and also in Psalms 89:27-33, and in Luke 21:36.
  • Iron - Speaks of the Shadow of Death — speaks of this mortal life [See Psalms 107:16 and Strong's number <01280> definition].
  • Iron Gate - Speaks of the gate between Exit from this earthly life, and Entrance to the immortal life, which gate is presided over by the Throne of Yahuweh.
  • Glory (#1) - Speaks of Messiah-in-you (Colossians 1:27) - which is a 'mystery,' and is a hope, and a goal to achieve.
  • Glory (#2) - A Euphemism — 'My Glory' — that Yahuweh has given to the portion of 'My People' or Israel that will make up the company of the Bride, by virtue of allowing Messiah to walk in fullness of Glory (#1) above.
  • Friend of Yahuweh - Those who keep Yahushua's Commandments (John 15:14)
  • Enemy or Adversary of Yahuweh - Those Believers who are 'fleshly-minded' or 'carnally minded' [not subject to, not submitted to obedience to] the Law (Romans 8:5-8); These are those who mock Yahuweh's Sabbaths (Lamentations 1.7).
  • Wilderness - Describes a Place that is used by Yahuweh for many purposes. The wilderness is:
    • 1. a place of hearing the voice of Yahuweh. The Hebrew word for 'Wilderness' is midbar, Strong's number <04057>, and comes from the Hebrew word dabar <01697>, meaning "word, saying, commandment," and in turn is derived from the root word dabar <01696>, meaning "speak, talk, commune, command, and promise."
    • 2. a place of separation from the world's influence, a place of consecration [See Strong's number <01509> meaning "separate, separated" — which comes from <01504>=13, meaning "cut off, divide, snatch." This word has many Bride characteristics.
    • 3. a place not inhabited (Leviticus 16:22). There are no other voices there, to tell you what you should do. It is just you, and Yahuweh, and His Word. The only voice you hear is a still, small voice;
    • 4. a place where there is no Way (Job 12:24). There is no false way in the wilderness — it is just you, and Yahuweh, and His Word — in order that you may find the TRUE Way, from the Beginning; Messiah Himself [living within us, walking with us] is the Way!
    • 5. a place of no bread, and no water (Numbers 21:5). Those that are hungry and thirsty will be fed with manna from heaven, and will find Living Water, when they seek Him with all their heart;
    • 6. a place where Yahuweh brings his people, to plead with them, so they might choose to enter in to His covenant, in order for them to be allowed to enter the Promised Land (Ezekiel 20:34-38). Your Preacher, your Pastor, your spiritual Leaders — none of these are there to give you any answers. It is just you and Yahuweh, and His Word. You must choose for yourself — whom you will serve.
    • 7. a place where The Way is Prepared (Isaiah 40:3; Matthew 3:3; Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4). "As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying, 'in the wilderness Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight'" (Luke 3:4). Notice that where the comma is placed within the passage makes a difference in the meaning! Yahushua Himself is 'The Way.'
    • It is in the Wilderness — away from the influence of others, away from the doctrines of men that contaminate the pure words of Messiah — that Messiah [The Living Way] is prepared in our hearts, as He deals with our heart and our attitudes, and our willingness to listen to Him and obey Him. It is only after His dealing with us, that His paths become straight ['upright'] in our daily walk, as He lives within us, and as He guides us in our daily walk, into the way of His Shalom (Luke 1:79).

    Phrases and Word Associations

Not only can individual words in Scripture have hidden, prophetic meaning, but phrases likewise can show prophetic meaning, by association of two or more words together, or in combination with numbers. Some examples are shown below:
  • My Sabbaths - This phrase occurs 15 times in Scripture. This phrase, along with the prophetic meaning of the number 15, reveals to us exactly how one must enter Yahuweh's Rest, as revealed in Hebrews 4:9.
  • vail / barley - This association of two words in one verse shows the prophetic association of the Bride with Barley (Ruth 3:15).
  • Old / New - This association of two words speaks of the Old and New Covenants, two versions of Yahuweh's Everlasting Covenant (Song of Solomon/Song of Songs 7:13; Matthew 13:52). Note also the prominence of the number 13 as seen even in the Scripture references.
  • Two Mountains / Two Hills - The prophetic picture of two destinations. One is Mount Sinai, the other is Mount Zion, with the Valley of Decision in between. Because many evangelical Believers are afraid to ascend Mt. Sinai, they are likewise afraid to ascend Mt. Zion, the habitation of Yahuweh. Mount Zion is the place of abiding ['remaining'] in Messiah. And because abiding in Him is by our obedience to Messiah's Commandments ['keeping the Law' by His enabling Grace He gives us], Mt. Zion appears to many, to be identical to Mt. Sinai ['keeping the Law' by one's own effort].
  • And because many evangelical Believers have been taught by their professionally-trained Leaders to be fearful of keeping the Commandments, the multitudes of Foolish Virgin Believers remain below in the Valley of Decision, unable to move. These Foolish Virgins will see the prophetic chariots of judgment bringing the time of testing to them — the time of Jacob's Trouble, or Great Tribulation — where their loyalties will be revealed (Psalms 119:29; Psalms 132:13-18; Isaiah 33:14-16; Joel 3:14; Zec 6:1). This judgment is now imminent — and it is time for the Wise Virgins to ascend Mt. Zion!
  • The above represent a small sample of the many prophetic words and phrases seen in Scripture. May you, Dear Reader, find many more!
