Just as we
saw in "Prophetic Numbers in Scripture," there are Prophetic
Words found in Scripture also. These are simply words that take on a
"dual" or additional meaning, which may not be obvious at first. It is
thus a "hidden" meaning. Let's look into this.
There
are approximately 8,674 separate and distinct words used in the "Old
Testament" (the Torah), not counting the Hebrew untranslated words,
variations, or "qere" readings. Likewise in the "New
Testament (The Renewed Covenant) writings, there are approximately
5,624 distinct words, not counting the Greek untranslated words,
variations, or synonyms.
Each of these
words distinct has a clear and obvious meaning, depending on context,
but many also have additional meanings on a deeper or hidden level.
This brief writing is a glimpse into some of the hidden meaning of
words, as related to the Bride and her preparation.
It
is unfortunate that man, left to himself, can and will corrupt the
Words of Almighty Yahuweh. For this reason we will first
mention that no interpretation of Biblical Words is of any man's
private interpretation, but must be that of Yahuweh alone. The
Word of Yahuweh alone can interpret itself.
Any
"word" or message of Scripture, to be a True interpretation, will have
"two or three witnesses" of other words or passages to confirm the
possible meanings. This is especially true of the hidden or
"prophetic" meanings of words used in Scripture.
As
we cry out to Yahuweh for wisdom, we realize there is a price we must
pay. We must "dig" for the nuggets, and the jewels He has
hidden for us. Nevertheless, as we seek Yahuweh, and His Word,
we begin to notice the hidden or "prophetic" meaning of many Bible
words. If we would labour to be observant, and to learn the
"Prophetic" language of Scripture, we would greatly increase in our
understanding.
For this reason, although we will
attempt to show here what some of the word definitions are, we must
qualify this with, "We might be wrong, so check it out for
yourself." I may be able to tell what I have seen and heard
(that's what a 'witness' does, according to Acts 4:20 and Acts
22:15). But I may be 'wrong' - so check it out for yourself,
and pray about what you see, dear Bride-Candidate.
Bear
also in mind, that the "prophetic" definitions do not "replace" or rule
out the simple and plain meaning of the words, as often happens in
"Replacement" Theology. With that said, here are some
"prophetic" definitions of certain words (The "Now" definitions that
apply the Scripture verse to you and me individually, for
today). A few words will be given at first, and from time to
time others added, as time permits:
Examples
of Prophetic Words in ScriptureBelow
are a few random
examples of Prophetic words in Scripture. In the articles on this site,
we have made an attempt reveal the prophetic definitions (the "now" or
present-day meaning for us today) of various words and terminology. We
hope to add to these as time permits. In no particular order, they are
as follows:
New
Covenant - The new (renewed) version of Yahuweh's Everlasting
Covenant with Israel.
Jacob -
Describes you and I as a "Believer." Through Messiah Yahushua, we have
become a 'Child of Promise.' But we are still as "Jacob,"
until we 'wrestle' with Yahuweh to get the Blessing. It is
after we wrestle, and prevail, that Yahuweh then calls us
"Israel."
Israel (#1)
- Corporately - Covenant Name of Promise, given to the Commonwealth
represented by the Tree, and given Individually - to all those grafted
into the Tree-Commonwealth, both natural branches and wild branches.
Israel
(#2) - Individually - That is Jacob (you and I as a
"Believer" or Child of Promise) after we have 'wrestled' with Yahuweh
(in the strength of 'Messiah-in-you') and have 'prevailed' with Him.
Israel
(#3) - Corporately - Nickname given to "My People"
as seen in numerous passages.
Israel (#4)
- Corporately - Name sometimes speaks of 'Ephraim,' and of the Ten
Tribes scattered into 'every wind' into all the nations, because of
their rebellion and idolatry, and their refusal to keep and observe
Yahuweh's Law. This name is the prophetic, derogatory name
applied to the 'Congregation' of Believing ones of today, that
continues to do the same as Ephraim of old, and consequently has been
scattered to 'Every Wind of Doctrine.'
Bow
- Yahuweh's Covenant
City - Speaks
of the Congregation of Yahuweh's people as a whole.
Purple
- The color "purple" speaks of the True Bride Candidates of Messiah;
Likewise, speaks of the False Bride.
Lot
- The Covering - The covering protection of the City- Congregation.
Just as Lot had to first leave Sodom, likewise the Bride must first be
removed from the earth. Only after this covering-protection
is removed from the City-Congregation of Yahuweh's people, may the
trial-by-fire begin.
Joshua
- "Yahuweh is Salvation" - Only one of 2 that entered in to the Land of
Promise beyond Jordan. This pictures Yahushua
Messiah.
Caleb - "The
Dog" - Only one of 2 that entered in to the Land of Promise beyond
Jordan. This pictures you and me (we are all as 'dogs' before
we come to Him), and all the Believers who, in Messiah, enter into the
Kingdom. Only 2 will enter in to the eternal kingdom--Joshua
and Caleb--Yahushua, and those "in Him" who have "become one" with Him.
"The two shall become one."
Jordan
- Speaks of entrance into the Kingdom through death, burial, and
resurrection.
Pearl -
Speaks of the "entering in of the Gates" of the City of the King--the
Kingdom of Yahuweh.
Pearl of Great Price
- Speaks of Truths regarding "Entering in" to the Kingdom.
Righteousness
(#1) - The Hebrew noun having the 'male' gender - Speaks of
the 'Seed' of Righteousness poured out from Yahuweh, upon the 'earth' -
upon Man. This "Seed" is Yahushua Himself, who is planted in the
"Garden"-- in the heart of man.
Righteousness
(#2) - The Hebrew noun having the 'female' gender - Speaks of
the Tree and its fruit, that springs up from the incorruptible Seed
that Yahuweh has planted, the Living word who is Yahushua, and resulting
in abundant Fruitfulness. Requires patience of the Husbandman
to wait for the 'Fruit' to be perfected.
Righteousness
(#3) - Speaks of Man's attempt to produce 'Fruit' from a
'seed' of Man's own planting, resulting in barrenness and filthy rags.
Wool
(#1) - Speaks of sweat, or 'work' - the efforts initiated by
Man.
Wool (#2) - Speaks of
Whiteness or purity, a Bride characteristic.
Works
(#1) - Speaks of works initiated by Man, including Man's
attempt to walk in obedience, and to do any good whatsoever, that is
not done by Grace, the power of 'Messiah-in-you' to accomplish the
obedience to His Word.
Works (#2)
- Speaks of works initiated by Yahuweh, and
"Messiah-in-man," and done together with Man, as an act of obedience to His Word, but only
when done by Grace-- the power of 'Messiah-in-man' to accomplish.
Flax
- Speaks of Linen: Righteousness provided by Yahuweh, but in its early
stages of growth, perhaps before the fruit is perfected. Speaks of a
Bride Characteristic.
Linen -
Speaks of Righteousness provided by Yahuweh, as opposed to that
initiated by Man. This is the equivalent of Righteousness #2
above. Speaks of a Bride Characteristic.
Grace
- Speaks of the Holy-Ghost ability provided by 'Messiah-in-you' to walk
in obedience. This Scripture-based definition is in opposition to Man's
definition of 'unmerited (undeserved) favour.' It is true that God's
favor is undeserved, but that is not the Bible definition of Grace.
Sin
- Transgression of the Law (Yahuweh's Law - The 'Torah'). This
Scripture-based definition is in opposition to Man's definition of
'missing the mark' It is true that man 'misses the mark,' but that is
not the Bible definition of Sin.
Iniquity
- Forsaking of the Law (forsaking the practice of Torah); Transgression
of the Law.
Wicked
- those who
do not seek Yahuweh (Psalms 10:4); do not seek His Statutes (Psalms
119:155); those who forsake the Law-- the Torah (Psalms 119:53;
Eze 33:19); do not Love Him (Psalms 145:20); do not fear Him (Ecc
8:13); those whose prayers are an abomination to Yahuweh (Prov 15:8;
Prov 28:9).
Wise
- Speaks of those who have chosen wisely--who have chosen the love of
the Truth, and who Fear Yahuweh, and who by the Grace of Messiah-in-them, walk in obedience to His Torah.
Foolish
- Speaks of those who have not chosen wisely. Love (Agape)
- provided only by Messiah-in-you - Has multiple prophetic meanings:
1. As a verb, speaks of appearing of Messiah-in-you
- the fruit of the resurrection-Harvest.
2. As a noun, speaks of :
a) the marriage
covenant - betrothal to those that become married to the Bridegroom.
b) the Bridegroom
and Bride characteristic, of laying down ones life for another.
c) the Bride
characteristic, speaks of the "fruit" that must be perfected; this is
the "fruit" for which the Husbandman labors, and has patience for.
d) the Bridegroom and Bride
characteristic, of keeping the Yahushua's Commandments, which are
Father's Commandments.
Fruit -
Speaks of works--good if produced by Messiah-in-you, and corrupt if
produced by your own efforts.
My
Commandments
- This phrase occurs 28 times in the Old Testament, and only 3 times in
the New. Thus where Yahushua speaks this phrase in John 14 and 15,
we realize He is referring to all of His sayings - from
Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. This includes ALL the Commandments
Yahushua gave to Moses. Therefore Yahushua said, "If you 'believe not' (If you are not a "do-er"
of) his
(Moses') writings, how shall you believe (be a "do-er" of) my words?"
(John 5:46-47). It is impossible to believe Yahushua's words, if one does not DO Moses' words: for Moses' words ARE
Yahushua's words! "If you love Me, keep "My Commandments."
Doctrines and Traditions of Men
- Speaks of Religious Teachings that originate not
from the Holy Scriptures, but from men's own imagination, men's
tradition, and men's fables. Yahushua said (Mt 15:9; Mk 7:7-8) that
these prevent men from keeping the Commandments of Yahuweh.
Commandments of Men
- Speaks of the religious traditions or practices that begin as Doctrines and Traditions of Men
(q.v.), but progress to becoming formal Religious Doctrines that
must be adhered to, under threat of expulsion or fear of physical or
spiritual retribution. We are told (Titus 1:14) that these religious
commandments of men actually "turn men away from the Truth" of the
Scriptures.
Gilgal
- Speaks of "whirlwind."
Whirlwind
- Speaks of 'Barley' Harvest. Elijah went up in a whirlwind, picturing
how the Barley-harvest Bride will ascend alive.
Barley
- Speaks of the 'Firstfruit' of the Harvest
1. Yahushua Messiah, as the Bridegroom
2. The Bride of Yahushua
Firstfruit
- Speaks of the "first-born" of the Harvest of Yahuweh: 1. Yahushua Messiah, as firstborn of them that slept; 2.
The Bride, as Firstborn of the Harvest.
Treasure
- Speaks of the Fear of Yahuweh.
Ephraim
(#1) - as a fulfillment of promise, Speaks of the Tribe
of Ephraim, the "Gentiles" (Israel scattered among the Nations) who
will become one stick in the hand of Yahuweh, when they are reunited
with Judah.
Ephraim (#2) - as a
derogatory picture, Speaks of the "Congregation" of Believing ones, who honour Messiah with their lips, but who
have forsaken the Law (Torah) and have gone into idolatry, through the
pagan religious festivals that had been given new packaging and labels,
such as xmas, easter, and many others.
Laodicea
- "Victory over the People" - Speaks of the house or abode of the
last-days religious institution, as the abode of a living beast to
trap, and snare, and prevent men from entering the Kingdom.
Jezebel
- A spirit-stronghold-- Speaks of the religious power source of Laodicea.
Babylon
- Speaks of the present-day Captivity of Yahuweh's people, to the
mixture of "Two Rivers"-- of Truth and Error-- and resulting blindness of
the congregation of the Believing ones. Being set free occurs
only by seeking Yahuweh, and only after stepping out in obedience to His
Commandments.
Assyria - Speaks of
the present-day Captivity of Yahuweh's people, to the "Successful
Spiritual Leaders"--and resulting blindness of the congregation of the
Believing ones. Being set free occurs only by seeking Yahuweh, and only
after stepping out in obedience to His Commandments.
Borrowed
Ax Head - prophetic words borrowed from one another, rather
than originating from Messiah-in-you to "sharpen" the edge of the iron,
the giving of wisdom by the Holy Spirit. (Ecc 10:10).
Sons
of the Prophets - Speaks of the many of present-day Prophets,
Prophecy Teachers, and 'Prophetic Ministries' who borrow words from one
another (the borrowed axe head), and are all speaking the same message,
but not from Yahuweh.
Harlot in the Book of Revelation - Speaks of the False Woman-- the False Bride-- the
False Religious system. One who attempts to attract men, in order to
produce fruit from the seed of another "Tree," which seed was not
planted by Yahuweh.
Five Loaves -
of Barley--Speaks of the Bride
Two Fishes
- Speaks of the Sign of "Israel" in the Heavens, representing the "Two
Fishes" that will be "Divided"-- the Barley-Harvest Bride, and the
Wheat-Harvest Believers.
Shadrack,
Meshach, & Abednego - The three Hebrew
Children--Speaks of the Resurrection of the Wheat Harvest Believers,
who must first go through the furnace, to receive the required
"7-Times" punishment because of continued forsaking of, and
disobedience to, Yahuweh's Torah, as promised four times in Leviticus
Chapter 26.
Iron - "Shadow of
Death"--speaks of this mortal life (See Ps 107:16 and Strong's number
<01280> definition).
Iron
Gate - Speaks of the gate between Exit from this earthly
life, and Entrance to the immortal life, which gate is presided over by
the Throne of Yahuweh.
Glory (#1)
- "Messiah-in-you" (Col 1:27) - which is a 'mystery,' and is a hope, and a goal to achieve.
Glory (#2) - A
Euphemism-- "My Glory"-- that Yahuweh has given to the portion of "My People" or "Israel"
that will make up the company of the Bride, by virtue of allowing
Messiah to walk in fulness of Glory (#1) above.
Friend
of Yahuweh - One who keeps Yahushua's Commandments (John 15:14)
Enemy
of Yahuweh - Those that "mock" Yahuweh's Sabbaths (Lam 1.7).
Wilderness
- Describes a Place that is used by Yahuweh for many purposes. The
wilderness is: 1.
a place of hearing the voice of Yahuweh.
The Hebrew word for 'Wilderness' is 'midbar,' Strong's number
<04057>, and comes from the Hebrew word 'dabar'
<01697>, meaning "word, saying, commandment," and in
turn is derived from the root word 'dabar' <01696>,
meaning "speak, talk, commune, command, and promise."
2. a place of
"separation" or consecration (See Strong's number <01509>
"separate, separated"--which comes from <01504>=13,
"cut off, divide, snatch." This word has Bride characteristics.
3. a place not
inhabited (Lev 16:22). There are no other voices there, to
tell you what you should do. It is just you, and Yahuweh, and His Word.
The only voice you hear is a still, small voice;
4. a place where
there is no Way (Job 12:24). There is no false way there--it
is just you, and Yahuweh, and His Word--in order that you may find the
TRUE way, from the Beginning; 5.
a place of no bread, and no water (Num
21:5). Those that are hungry and thirsty will be fed with manna from
heaven, and will find Living Water, when they seek Him with all their
heart; 6. a
place where Yahuweh brings his people, to plead with them, so
they might choose to enter in to His covenant, in order for them to be
allowed to enter the "Promised Land" (Eze 20:34-38). Your Preacher,
your Pastor, your leaders--none of these are there to give you any
answers. It is just you and Yahuweh, and His Word. You must choose for
yourself--whom you will serve.
Phrases
and Word AssociationsNot only do individual words have
hidden, prophetic meaning, but phrases can likewise show prophetic
meaning, by association of two or more words together, or even with
numbers. Two examples are shown below.
"My
Sabbaths" - This phrase occurs 15 times in Scripture. This
phrase, along with the prophetic meaning of the number "15," reveals to
us exactly how one must enter Yahuweh's "Rest."
vail
/ barley - This association of two words in one verse shows
the prophetic association of the Bride with Barley (Ruth 3:15).
Old
/ New - This association of two words speaks of the Old
and New Covenants, two versions of Yahuweh's Everlasting Covenant (So
7:13; Mt 13:52). Note also the prominence of the number "13" even in
the Scripture references.
